About the Role
We are seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer to support our international projects in various stages, providing technical assistance in geotechnical works. The successful candidate will be based in Madrid initially, with frequent travel to overseas locations. After an initial period, the role will involve a long-term international assignment in one of our current international projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee geotechnical field explorations and soil remediation programs.
- Manage internal and external teams of experts.
- Conduct site visits to oversee geotechnical works and construction activities.
- Review geotechnical information for projects during the bidding stage, providing technical assistance.
- Prepare geotechnical reports for building, road, and railway projects.
- Perform soil-structure analysis, assisting in the design of shallow and deep foundations, tunnels, and earth retaining structures.
- Expertise in Plaxis 2D software, including modeling and interpretation.
- Expertise in commercial geotechnical software packages (Rocs-cience, Ensoft, Geo-Studio, etc).
Requirements
- Civil Engineering or similar degree.
- 5-10 years of experience in underground works.
- High English language proficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel and relocate.
