Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Design Engineer to support our international projects at various stages, providing technical assistance in geotechnical works. This role will be based in Madrid, with frequent travel to overseas locations. After an initial period, the successful candidate will be assigned to a long-term international project with Ferrovial.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee geotechnical field explorations and soil remediation programs.
- Manage internal and external teams of experts, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Conduct site visits to oversee geotechnical works and construction activities, providing technical guidance and support.
- Review geotechnical information for various projects during the bidding stage, offering technical assistance and expertise.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports for building, road, and railway projects.
- Perform soil-structure analysis, assisting in the design of shallow and deep foundations, tunnels, and earth retaining structures.
- Utilize Plaxis 2D software for modeling and interpretation, as well as commercial geotechnical software packages (Rocs-cience, Ensoft, Geo-Studio, etc).
Requirements
- Civil Engineering or related field degree.
- 5-10 years of experience in underground works.
- Strong English language skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel and relocate.
