Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Geotechnical Site Survey Plans: Develop planning and specifications of offshore geotechnical site surveys, ensuring that all necessary data is collected and analyzed to inform project decisions.
- Lead Geotechnical Discipline within Projects: Manage the geotechnical discipline within projects, ensuring that all aspects of geotechnical engineering are properly addressed and that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Client Liaison and Deliverable Preparation: Serve as the main point of contact with clients, responsible for the preparation of deliverables within the expected timeline, budget, and quality.
- Project Coordination and Development: Coordinate project developments in the bid and execution phases, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to ensure project success.
- Support for Offshore Wind Auctions and Development: Support the preparation and coordination of documentation to successfully participate in future offshore wind auctions (seabed lease and/or offtake) and development (to FID) phases.
- People Management and Technical Development: Potentially lead a team of engineers and contribute to the technical development of the company.
- Project Results Documentation and Meetings: Document project results and attend and conduct project meetings with clients, ensuring that all necessary information is shared and that project progress is tracked.
- Risk Management and Interface Tracking: Ensure that key interfaces, risks, and actions within OWF engineering are tracked, managed, and necessary interventions identified and closed out.
- Project Delivery Risk Assessment: Understand, quantify, and articulate project delivery risk to enable transparent and fully informed business decisions to be made by project leadership.
- Knowledge Transfer and Design Review: Ensure knowledge transfer between projects and review and verify design documentation related to geotechnical studies, foundations, cable buried assessment, onshore-offshore transitions, etc. during the different design and construction phases.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 10 years of professional experience in offshore projects, with at least five (5) years in offshore wind energy, and a deep understanding of offshore geotechnical design matters.
- Master's degree or PhD in civil engineering, preferably with a focus on geotechnical engineering.
- Strong technical background in offshore wind projects, including numerical modeling and seismic design.
- Experience in offshore geotechnical engineering, including specification and supervision of geotechnical offshore site investigations and ground model definition.
- Experience in design of offshore wind foundations, including driven piles, drilled piles, monopiles, spud-cans, suction caissons, drag anchors, gravity bases, etc.
- Experience in cable routing and subsea trenching equipment selection.
- Experience with landfall design, including open and HDD solutions.
