Process Safety Engineer Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student to join our Process Safety Management team as a Process Safety Engineer Intern. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and tasks that will help you develop your skills and knowledge in process safety management.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily safety procedure audits and inspections as needed.
- Assist in the delivery of the Contractor Safety Training.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), and auditing.
- Assist with the development of Hazardous Materials Information System (HMIS) signs and labeling.
- Perform the annual respiratory protection program audit for the Safety Department.
- Engage with field personnel to understand operational challenges, provide support, and reinforce a strong safety culture.
- Must be enrolled in a Chemical Engineering or Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term.
- Strong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner while following safe work practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A multi-discipline program with meaningful, hands-on work experience.
- Networking events coordinated by the New Grad Committee.
- Structured goal-setting and performance evaluations.
- Opportunity to present work-term learnings to the Cenovus Leadership team.
