About this Opportunity

Cenovus is seeking a talented student to join our Process Safety Management Department as a Process Safety Engineer Intern. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a refining environment and work alongside industry-leading professionals.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform daily safety procedure audits and inspections
  2. Assist in the delivery of Contractor Safety Training
  3. Support Process Safety Management, including PSI, PHA, MOC, auditing, and drawing updates
  4. Assist with the development of HMIS signs and labeling
  5. Perform the annual respiratory protection program audit for the Safety Department
  6. Engage with field personnel to understand operational challenges and reinforce a strong safety culture
Requirements
  • Available to begin work on January 6, 2025
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Valid US Driver's License with no restrictions
  • Previous experience is considered an asset
  • Strong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education

Must be enrolled in a Chemical Engineering or Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term.

Working Conditions

May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, and working at site.

Safety Sensitive

This is a safety-sensitive role and requires the operation of a motor vehicle. A valid US Driver's License with no restrictions is a requirement for this role.
