You will be part of a driven and collaborative team, completing important projects while receiving mentorship, knowledge, and experience to develop the skills you need to build a successful career.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily safety procedure audits and inspections as needed.
- Assist in the delivery of Contractor Safety Training.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), and auditing.
- Assist with the development of Hazardous Materials Information System (HMIS) signs and labeling.
- Perform the annual respiratory protection program audit for the Safety Department.
- Engage with field personnel to understand operational challenges, provide support, and reinforce a strong safety culture.
- Foster positive and constructive interactions with field personnel to encourage reporting of safety concerns and ensure effective communication.
- Must be enrolled in a Chemical Engineering or Engineering undergraduate program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term.
- Candidates currently enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.
- New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
- Strong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner while following safe work practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
This role may include frequent travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, and working at site. Safety-sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, and a valid US Driver's License with no restrictions is a requirement for this role.
You will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours and pass the Cenovus pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.
