Process Safety Engineer Intern

About the Opportunity
Cenovus is seeking a talented student to join our Process Safety Management team as a Process Safety Engineer Intern. This exciting opportunity will provide you with hands-on experience in a refining environment, working alongside industry-leading professionals. You will be part of a driven and collaborative team, completing important projects while receiving mentorship, knowledge, and experience to develop the skills you need to build an exciting career.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily safety procedure audits and inspections as needed. Assist in the delivery of Contractor Safety Training. Support Process Safety Management, including Process Hazard Analysis, Management of Change, and auditing. Assist with the development of Hazardous Materials Identification System (HMIS) signs and labeling. Perform the annual respiratory protection program audit for the Safety Department. Engage with field personnel to understand operational challenges, provide support, and reinforce a strong safety culture. Foster positive and constructive interactions with field personnel to encourage reporting of safety concerns and ensure effective communication.
Requirements
Must be enrolled in a Chemical Engineering or Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term. Strong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner while following safe work practices. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Valid US Driver's License with no restrictions. Relocation assistance may be available for students moving for their work term.
