Job Overview

SLS Barcelona, a five-star urban resort, seeks an experienced Group Sales Manager to support the sales team in driving group sales revenue by identifying and securing group bookings. This role involves proactive account management for new and existing accounts, working closely with other sales team members to meet and exceed monthly revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and qualify potential leads through research and following the hotel sales strategy and goals.
  2. Create and maintain customer relationships to achieve optimum market share.
  3. Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their group requirements.
  4. Prepare compelling proposals and presentations to showcase the hotel's facilities, services, and offerings to prospective clients.
  5. Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with clients while ensuring alignment with hotel policies and revenue objectives.
  6. Work closely with the events, catering, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of group bookings and exceptional guest experiences.
  7. Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
  8. Adjust sales strategies accordingly to maximize revenue.
  9. Analyze sales data and market trends to forecast sales revenue accurately.
  10. Provide regular reports and updates to the Director of Group Sales.
  11. Manage the group sales budget effectively to optimize resource allocation and maximize ROI.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in hotel sales or equivalent industry experience, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valuable knowledge of sales skills, ability to understand customer requirements and translate these into sales solutions and revenue management.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and developing long-term relationships and contacts.
  • Experience managing luxury brands.
  • Ability to be assertive and persuasive without being aggressive.
  • Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.
  • Strong organizational skills, including follow-up, time management, ability to multi-task, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a bonus.
  • Someone who understands, celebrates, and embraces the SLS brand values.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Proficient in Windows Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and able to utilize traditional software programs such as Delphi, Opera, and any departmental-specific systems used.
