Join our team as a Technical Solutions Expert and contribute to shaping the future of analytical solutions at Verisk. This exciting role involves investigating and resolving complex application and system issues across multiple products, providing technical support and assistance to clients or business support teams, and collaborating with junior colleagues to develop their skills on technologies and products.

About the Role

This position requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities. You'll work on a wide variety of bespoke applications and technologies based on various platforms and collaborate with other experts to identify and implement best practices.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver third-line support, including technical investigations, code fixes, and work-around solutions that require knowledge and interest in analyzing, debugging, and fixing code.
  2. Investigate and resolve application and system issues across multiple products.
  3. Provide technical support and assistance to clients or business support teams.
  4. Familiarize yourself with business processes and associated products that Sequel sells to help clients deliver their business processes.
  5. Address and respond to enquiries on organizational products and services, including installation, operational functions, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  6. Assist junior colleagues in developing their skills on technologies and products.
  7. Resolve IT incidents and events, observing operational priority, impact, and SLAs, in a timely manner, escalating where appropriate.
  8. Work on different systems and issues beyond your expertise, while maintaining quality of service.
  9. Focus on root cause analysis and resolution for recurring incidents and events, making long-term recommendations and fixes.
  10. Complete IT requests effectively by understanding the true business requirement, outcome, and suitable technical solutions.
  11. Recommend opportunities to improve the overall IT strategy and value of IT to the support process.
  12. Lead a team (not line management) in investigating and resolving complex application and system issues across multiple products.
  13. Participate in implementation and change control activities.
  14. Deliver timely and appropriate communication to stakeholders and internal customers, providing acknowledgement and effective updates.
  15. Contribute to Service transition, ensuring readiness for projects moving to BAU.
  16. Raise any risks with senior management or via standard process.
  17. Ensure client data is secure and properly managed.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of programming experience in Microsoft technologies (C#)
  • Familiarity with MVC, Angular 2, and TFS, including Release Management, is a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL/relational databases and reporting tools such as SSRS
  • A positive attitude and ability to provide great customer service
  • Understanding/experience of Insurance operations
  • Demonstrable experience of working to tight deadlines and managing teams to deliver desired business outcomes
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $130,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience.
