At British American Tobacco, we're looking for a skilled Head of Corporate & Regulatory Affairs to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a key member of our External Affairs function, you'll play a critical role in shaping our regulatory approach and ensuring a positive business environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and effective engagement with governments, political institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with senior managers to drive business growth and mitigate risks associated with external political environments.
  • Supervising and supporting teams to achieve sensible regulation that balances business imperatives and corporate reputation.
  • Leading the implementation of a 360-degree external communication strategy aligned with our commitment to a Better Tomorrow.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience in government and regulatory affairs, preferably with a background in FMCG, politics, or public institutions.
  • Knowledge of the Spanish and European regulatory ecosystems, with a strong understanding of government and regulatory affairs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • Proven experience in managing high-performance teams and driving business growth through effective external engagement.
