This role is with Thermo Fisher Scientific, a leading employer and a member of Mygwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. As a Senior Sales Director, Clinical Development, you will be responsible for securing and retaining business for PPD through professional, consultative, proactive sales activities focused on decision-makers and decision influencers at existing and new clinical sponsors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead RFP strategy calls, develop client proposals, prepare client presentations, and negotiate and close contracts.
- Sign new business authorizations at or above assigned authorization goal.
- Make cold calls and client visits; maintain sales database; maintain cold call and client visit activity reports.
- Act as a liaison between sponsor and company on all business development activities and requirements.
- Coordinate with the relevant clinical development area(s) to ensure a successful implementation.
- Gather data on marketing trends and driven products/services and pricing.
- Ensure client happiness through periodic client contact; report and develop recommendations to address client dissatisfaction; respond to all client requests.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and skills.
- Extensive, senior-level sales experience for the Clinical/CRO/Laboratory Services markets is essential.
- Proven track record of developing mid- and high-level business contacts.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and developing sales leads, making professional presentations, managing the sales process through close, and handling all aspects of contract negotiations.
- Excellent social skills in order to manage and fully integrate with Operations, Finance, and Marketing, and follow-up to expand relationships and business opportunities.
- Understanding of sales automation systems and Microsoft Office programs.
- Advanced level of business English; additional European languages an advantage.
