About the Position

The Account Support EMEALA division in Madrid plays a crucial role in assisting Elsevier's sales teams and clientele across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Reporting directly to the Director of Account Support EMEALA, you will oversee a team of 8-12 full-time employees and manage offshore support operations in India. Your team is responsible for order management related to new sales and renewals, handling an annual contract volume of $150-200 million.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of highly educated and skilled professionals, focusing on their personal and professional development.
  • Utilize the team's expertise to support commercial initiatives alongside their daily tasks.
  • Ensure effective support for the sales process, achieving weekly revenue targets for both renewal and new business, while strategically planning the renewal pipeline on a monthly basis.
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive renewal project plans to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Drive revenue growth and optimization by delivering account analyses and identifying upsell opportunities for the sales team. Manage active renewals of smaller deals within the negotiation parameters set by sales.
  • Take a leading role in cross-functional projects that involve various departments (Finance, HR, IT, Business) and report to senior management.
  • Evaluate the performance of account support processes and initiate projects that lead to structural improvements in processes, systems, and organizational capabilities.
  • Enhance team capabilities to boost renewal performance and elevate customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in team management.
  • Exhibit high levels of integrity and honesty, inspiring others to achieve exceptional performance.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating high performance and clear communication of expectations.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Build rapport with team members and across different teams.
  • Proficient in IT systems (Siebel, Salesforce, MS Office, etc.).
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.
