Position Overview

The Account Support EMEALA division in Madrid plays a crucial role in assisting Elsevier's sales teams and clientele throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. As the manager of a dedicated team of 8-12 full-time employees, you will report directly to the Director of Account Support EMEALA and oversee offshore operations in India. Your team is responsible for managing orders related to new sales and renewals, with an impressive annual contract base ranging from $150M to $200M.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of highly qualified professionals, focusing on their personal and professional growth.
  • Utilize the team's expertise to enhance commercial initiatives alongside their regular duties.
  • Ensure effective support for the sales process, achieving weekly revenue targets for both renewals and new business, while strategically planning the renewal pipeline on a monthly basis.
  • Create and share renewal project plans with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Drive revenue growth and optimize sales opportunities by delivering account analyses and identifying upsell prospects. Manage active renewals of smaller deals within the parameters set by the sales team.
  • Take a leading role in cross-functional projects that may involve various departments such as Finance, HR, IT, and Business, while reporting to senior management.
  • Evaluate the performance of account support processes and initiate projects that lead to structural enhancements in systems, processes, and organizational capabilities.
  • Enhance team capabilities to boost renewal performance and improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in team management.
  • Exhibit high levels of integrity and honesty, inspiring others to achieve exceptional performance.
  • Demonstrate a results-driven mindset and communicate expectations effectively.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Build rapport with team members and across different teams.
  • Have a solid understanding of IT systems, including Siebel, Salesforce, and MS Office.
  • Fluency in English is essential, with excellent communication skills.
