Overview

As a Commercial Counsel at Globalization Partners, you will play a crucial role in shaping our global growth strategy by providing expert advice on commercial law and contract management.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for negotiating and managing high-volume contracts, advising on contractual rights and obligations, and ensuring compliance with company policy and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with clients and vendors, ensuring timely preparation, review, and execution.
  • Advise the business on contractual rights, obligations, and risks, providing sound legal judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare and deliver training sessions to internal groups, including sales teams, on commercial law and contract management.
  • Analyze and revise contracts to ensure compliance with company policy and regulations, utilizing contracts management software experience.
  • Perform other contract-related activities and projects as assigned, demonstrating laser-focused attention to detail and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Conduct corporate, compliance, and legal research, providing clear guidance on complex and sensitive issues with an appropriate sense of commercial risk.
  • Assist with other legal tasks as needed, showcasing a strong work ethic and team player attitude.

Requirements

  • An active license to practice law is required, along with 4-6 years of commercial law experience, including contract negotiation and administration.
  • Previous experience working with global sales teams is preferred, along with contracts management software experience.
  • Laser-focused attention to detail, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and a strong English language proficiency are essential.
  • A pragmatic, sales-focused approach, strong work ethic, and team player attitude are also required.
