About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Global Employee Relations Specialist to join our team in Madrid, Spain or London, UK office. This is a 4-day per week office-based position with one day working from home.

Job Summary:

The Global Employee Relations Specialist will report directly to the Global Head of HR Business Partners and be responsible for managing complex employee relations issues across the organisation. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance to HR partners, managers, and leaders while ensuring alignment with company policies and applicable employment laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations Strategy:
    • Develop and implement global employee relations strategies aligned with the organisation's business objectives.
    • Collaborate with HR leadership to design programmes that enhance workplace culture, engagement, and productivity.
  • Case Management:
    • Lead investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and disputes, ensuring thorough, timely, and impartial resolution.
    • Document and track cases using an ER case management system, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure company practices comply with international employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
    • Monitor changes in global employment laws and regulations, advising local HR teams on potential impacts and necessary adjustments.
  • Advisory and Coaching:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders on employee relations issues.
    • Support the development of local HR teams and leaders through coaching on ER topics, including conflict resolution, communication, and employee engagement.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyse ER metrics and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and proactive interventions.
    • Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on data analysis and benchmarking against industry standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM-CP) is a plus but not essential.
  • Experience in an Employee Relations, HR generalist, or a similar role, with a focus on global or multinational organisations.
  • Proven track record of handling complex ER cases, investigations, and conflict resolution in diverse cultural settings.
