The Role

As our new South Europe Sales Development Manager, you will focus on developing business opportunities in the south European region. This entails building connections with strategic clients in the Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, and Power Generation markets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining detailed account mappings of each site, including key decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Evaluating and appointing suitable distribution partners
  • Conducting market research, analysis, and identification of local potential clients, prioritizing those with a high chance of success
  • Acquiring new customers, qualifying, and prioritizing accounts and opportunities to achieve optimal sales and profitability results
  • Developing and retaining relationships with clients and distribution partners in targeted segments, focusing on the oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical, and power generation industries
  • Designing comprehensive sales strategies based on turnaround activities and targeting specific companies
  • Performing on-site demos, building relationships at all levels, and achieving sales and follow-up after-sales, including product training for customers
  • Maintaining awareness of gas leak detection market trends and competition, sharing this information with internal stakeholders
  • Planning, organizing, and implementing marketing actions, participating in exhibitions and conferences
  • Collaborating with a multi-functional team based at the Swiss headquarters in Zurich
  • Ensuring data accuracy, managing CRM, activity reports, proposals, and shipping instructions
  • Shaping strategy and proposals for top management
  • Providing regular reporting on activities and business success

Countries Covered: Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Malta (countries may change depending on market trends).

Your Profile:

To succeed in this role, you should have an electrical, electronic, or chemistry background, with further education and experience in sales and marketing being a plus. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position in an SMB, selling CAPEX, non-destructive testing devices, is required. Experience in the Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, or Chemistry industry is essential. Proven track records in sales, business development, and account management are necessary. Additionally, distributor management experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment autonomously are essential.
