Software Development Manager Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead our Device Service Organization team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering multiple cloud services that support our critical functionalities in the Ring ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers.
  • Communicate with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage teams of Software Engineers.
  • Develop and maintain engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of how to optimize teams, processes, and performance
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers
