Overview

The IT Operations Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in the implementation and maintenance of advanced IT solutions tailored for Clinical Laboratories. This position focuses on the Laboratory Information System and the Advanced Data Analysis System utilizing Business Intelligence technology.

Position Summary

The selected candidate will be tasked with configuring the Laboratory Information System and ensuring the integrity of the application architecture, along with managing various interoperability systems beyond the laboratory environment. The goal is to provide exceptional service levels to clients.

Reporting to the IT Operations Area Manager, this role may also involve taking on Project Manager responsibilities during implementation projects or serving as a key reference for installations.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Operations Systems Engineer will undertake the following primary responsibilities:

  • Implement IT solutions while adhering to best practices, including fulfilling Project Manager duties when required.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and team members.
  • Deliver both remote and on-site technical support, assisting clients in integrating IT solutions within their laboratories.
  • Analyze laboratory processes and advocate for technological enhancements, particularly in application architecture and interoperability systems.
  • Collaborate closely with IT Support teams and Product Specialists.
  • Document activities performed within the established timelines.
  • Stay informed about various technological tools and products, especially regarding application architecture and interoperability systems.
  • As a Project Manager/Project Leader, the individual will also be responsible for:
    • Planning and coordinating project tasks, ensuring all activities necessary for system implementation and maintenance are performed effectively.
    • Identifying and communicating potential risks to clients that may affect project objectives.
    • Engaging with clients at all project management levels to independently resolve conflicts or issues.
    • Ensuring that all relevant technical documentation is current and accessible to the project team.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and quality standards.
  • Comply with the Corporate Code of Ethics.

Internal Relationships

The role will involve collaboration with various departments, including:

  • Building strong relationships with all roles within the Healthcare IT Solutions business unit and the IT Support team.
  • Communicating effectively with the development team for system integration and equipment connectivity.
  • Maintaining fluid interactions with Area Managers, Key Account Managers, and Sales Application Specialists, particularly within the Healthcare IT Solutions sector.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Mid-level vocational training in Microcomputer and Network Systems or Operating IT Systems. Advanced vocational training in Networked IT Systems Administration is a plus.

Experience:

  • Experience in IT projects related to Clinical Laboratories or hospital settings.
  • Experience in IT Project Management.

Additional Skills:

  • Project Management Professional Certification.
  • VMWare Administration Certification or experience with Virtual Machines.
  • Operating Systems Administration or relevant experience.
  • Oracle Administration Certification or experience in Database Administration.
  • WildFly Administration Certification or experience with Application Servers.
  • HL7 Administration or Certification or experience with Communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of interoperability platforms.
  • Familiarity with BI tools, particularly QlikView.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in English is preferred.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese is advantageous.

Mobility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel within the job's location area: Up to 80% of annual working time.
  • Willingness to travel within Spain/Portugal: Up to 30% of annual working time.
