Global SAP ERP Manager

We are looking for a seasoned and strategic professional to take on the role of Interim SAP Manager within the chemical sector.
In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with steering the strategic vision, execution, and management of SAP S4 systems and solutions throughout our international organization. Your extensive experience in overseeing our outsourcing partner responsible for SAP S4 application management and Basis support will be crucial. Your leadership will play a key role in guiding a team of both internal and external business analysts to optimize SAP S4 technologies, fostering business growth and efficiency, and ensuring smooth integration with our current SAP S4 IT framework.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Development:
Formulate and implement a detailed IT strategy and architectural framework for our SAP S4 environment that aligns with the broader business goals and growth strategies of the organization. This involves setting both short-term and long-term objectives, identifying critical performance metrics, and tracking progress towards strategic targets.
2. System Consolidation and Upgrades:
Oversee the consolidation and upgrade of our three SAP S4 instances. Manage the customization and integration of SAP solutions across various business units and regions. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful rollout of new SAP functionalities, upgrades, and enhancements while minimizing disruptions to business activities.
3. Application Integration and Consolidation:
Lead the integration of SAP S4 systems with other enterprise applications, such as CRM and our SAP Datasphere BI platform, to enhance business processes, improve data visibility, and support real-time decision-making. Spearhead the consolidation of applications interfacing with SAP. Utilize your technical knowledge to design scalable and interoperable IT solutions that adapt to the organization's changing requirements.
4. Governance and Compliance:
Establish and uphold IT governance policies, standards, and best practices in collaboration with our outsourcing partner to ensure the security, integrity, and regulatory compliance of SAP systems and data. Implement strong controls and protocols to enhance access management and data privacy, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
5. Performance Enhancement:
Regularly evaluate the performance and efficiency of SAP processes alongside your team and the business. Identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement. Proactively resolve performance issues, system errors, and scalability challenges to maintain optimal uptime and user satisfaction.
6. Vendor Relations:
Develop robust relationships with SAP, our outsourcing service provider, and other SaaS vendors to stay informed about emerging technologies, product developments, and industry trends. Negotiate advantageous contracts, service level agreements, and pricing arrangements to maximize the value of investments in SAP software and services. Assess the performance and SLAs of our SAP outsourcing provider.
7. Team Development:
Build and nurture a high-performing team of internal and external IT specialists with expertise in SAP architecture, development, administration, and support. Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities to empower team members and cultivate a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience in IT leadership roles, particularly in SAP implementation, management, and optimization within a fully outsourced context.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SAP S4 products, modules, and solutions, including SAP Data Sphere, SuccessFactors, GTS, and EHS.
- Proven success in leading large-scale SAP projects from inception to completion, delivering tangible business value and ROI.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities, with a talent for influencing and aligning diverse teams towards shared objectives.
- Relevant certifications in SAP technologies (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate, SAP Certified Technology Associate) are highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks, such as ITIL, COBIT, and ISO 27001, along with chemical regulations and compliance standards.
