Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HR generalist to become a part of our expanding team of HR Regional Partners in Spain.

If you aspire to be part of an innovative and employee-focused HR team, committed to excellence and offering substantial career advancement opportunities, we encourage you to explore this opportunity further.

Role Responsibilities

HR Regional Partners (HRPs) in the EMEA region serve as trusted advisors to over 4,000 managerial personnel across 20 diverse nations. They operate independently, providing high-quality advice to enhance both customer and employee experiences.

HRPs collaborate closely with various business and HR stakeholders, including:

  • HR Business Partners who implement HR strategies for their respective business lines.
  • Centers of excellence, such as Employee Services (responsible for HR administration), Compensation & Benefits, and Talent Acquisition.

HRPs must possess a comprehensive understanding of local employment laws and are adept at providing guidance on company policies, fostering trust through informed advice on personnel matters.

As generalists, HRPs engage with multiple Corporate sectors, partnering with leaders to deliver prompt, effective, and high-quality consultation and support.

This role utilizes an innovative customer relationship management tool, allowing the team to identify emerging trends and inform strategic decisions based on data insights.

The HRP team is also tasked with standardizing best practices across the EMEA region, leveraging their extensive insights across various business lines.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Advising HRBPs and Business Leaders on change management strategies.
  • Overseeing performance management processes, both informal and formal.
  • Addressing complex and sensitive employee matters, including investigations and grievance procedures.
  • Facilitating development sessions aimed at enhancing managerial effectiveness.
  • Providing support on Employee Relations cases, particularly concerning Workers Councils and labor inspections (strong knowledge of local labor laws is essential).
  • Identifying training opportunities to enhance functional and leadership capabilities.
  • Assisting leaders with career discussions and development plans.

A Day in the Life

In addition to core casework, the HRP team is responsible for policy compliance at the national level, which requires staying updated on legislative changes and utilizing strong writing skills to amend policy documents.

Moreover, a significant aspect of career development within the HRP team involves participating in or leading expert groups focused on refining key HR processes (such as Talent or Performance management) across the EMEA region, or engaging in specific project assignments at either the national or regional level.

Lastly, as subject matter experts in HR for the country, HRPs manage Employee Relations cases, including investigations, grievances, and negotiations with Workers Councils.

About the Team

The ESP HRP Corporate team operates between two major cities, managing all Corporate employees in Spain. This position is essential to maintain a balanced team presence across locations. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required, with Catalan being an additional asset.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as a Human Resources generalist, particularly in labor relations within Spain.
  • Strong understanding of Spanish Employment Law and Employee Relations experience (mandatory).
  • Experience managing Workers Councils in Spain.
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English; Catalan is a plus but not required.
  • Strong HR acumen, with excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to achieve results both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Catalan is preferred.
  • Experience managing Workers Councils in Spain.
  • Experience in Labor Relations within Spain.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, customer-oriented international environment.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and effectively utilize available resources.
  • Project management experience with a track record of influencing decisions through data-driven insights.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and consulting skills.
