Amazon HR Regional Partners (HRPs) within the EMEA region serve as advisors to over 4,000 managerial personnel, spread across 20 diverse nations.

Working independently and offering well-considered advice, HRPs facilitate an outstanding experience for both customers and employees.


HRPs at Amazon engage in collaboration with various business and HR stakeholders, including:

  • HR Business Partners who concentrate on executing the HR strategy for their respective business units.
  • Centers of excellence, such as Employee Services (responsible for HR administration), Compensation & Benefits, and Talent Acquisition.


HRPs must possess a robust understanding of local employment legislation, demonstrate proficiency in consulting on Amazon policies, and establish trust by delivering sound guidance on personnel-related matters.

Amazon HRPs operate as 'generalists' across multiple Corporate sectors, partnering with leaders to provide prompt, effective, and high-quality consultation and support.

This role utilizes an innovative customer relationship management tool, positioning the team to identify emerging issues and trends through data analysis, thereby informing subsequent decisions and initiatives.

The HRP team's mission also includes standardizing best practices across the EMEA region, leveraging our extensive insights across various business lines.

Key Responsibilities
Here are some of the primary areas the HRP team oversees:

  • Advising HR Business Partners and Business Leaders on change management initiatives.
  • Managing performance evaluation processes, both informal and formal.
  • Addressing complex and sensitive employee matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Conducting development sessions aimed at enhancing managerial effectiveness and capabilities.
  • Supporting Employee Relations cases, particularly in relation to Workers Councils and labor inspections (a strong grasp of local labor law is essential for this role).
  • Identifying training opportunities to enhance functional and leadership competencies.
  • Assisting Leaders with career discussions and growth strategies.

A Day in the Life
In addition to core casework, the HRP team is responsible for policy and compliance at the national level, which requires staying updated on any legislative or Amazon-driven changes and employing strong writing skills to amend policy documents.

Moreover, a significant aspect of our HRP team's professional development involves participating in or leading subject matter expert groups focused on refining key HR processes (such as Talent or Performance management) across the EMEA region, or undertaking individual project assignments at either the national or regional level.

Lastly, as HR country subject matter experts, managing Employee Relations cases (including investigations, grievances, and terminations) and negotiations with the Workers Council is a crucial responsibility.

About the Team
The ESP HRP Corporate team operates between two major cities, collectively managing all Corporate personnel based in Spain (approximately 6,000 employees).

This position requires a presence in one of the key locations to ensure team balance. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is essential (knowledge of Catalan is an advantage).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree or higher in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as an HR generalist, particularly in handling labor relations cases in Spain.
  • In-depth knowledge of Spanish Employment Law and experience in Employee Relations (mandatory).
  • Experience managing Workers Councils in Spain.
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English; Catalan proficiency is a plus but not required.
  • Strong HR acumen, with excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to achieve results both independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Catalan language skills is preferable.
  • Experience managing Workers Councils in Spain.
  • Background in Labor Relations within Spain.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, customer-oriented international environment.
  • Proven capability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Project management experience with a track record of influencing decisions through data-driven insights.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and consulting abilities.
