Role Overview

HR Regional Partners (HRPs) in the EMEA region serve as trusted advisors to over 4,000 managerial staff across 20 diverse nations. Working independently, HRPs deliver insightful guidance to foster an outstanding experience for both customers and employees.

Collaboration and Responsibilities

Amazon HRPs engage closely with various business and HR stakeholders, including:

  • HR Business Partners dedicated to executing HR strategies aligned with their respective business units.
  • Centers of excellence, encompassing Employee Services (responsible for HR administration), Compensation & Benefits, and Talent Acquisition.

HRPs are expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of local employment legislation, demonstrate expertise in Amazon policies, and build credibility by offering sound advice on people-related matters.

As 'generalists', HRPs collaborate across multiple Corporate sectors, partnering with leaders to deliver prompt, effective, and high-quality consultation and support.

This position utilizes an innovative customer relationship management tool, enabling the team to identify emerging trends and inform strategic decisions and initiatives.

The HRP team also aims to standardize best practices across the EMEA region, leveraging extensive insights from various business lines.

Key Responsibilities

The HRP team is accountable for several critical areas, including:

  • Advising HRBPs and Business Leaders on change management strategies.
  • Overseeing performance management processes, both informal and formal.
  • Addressing complex and sensitive employee matters, including investigations and grievance procedures.
  • Facilitating development workshops aimed at enhancing managerial effectiveness.
  • Providing support on Employee Relations cases, particularly in relation to Workers Councils and labor inspections (strong knowledge of local labor laws is essential).
  • Identifying training opportunities to enhance functional and leadership capabilities.
  • Assisting leaders with career discussions and growth plans.

A Day in the Life

In addition to core casework, the HRP team is responsible for policy and compliance at the national level, which requires staying updated on legislative changes and Amazon-driven updates while utilizing strong writing skills to revise policy documents.

Moreover, a significant aspect of our HRP team's professional development involves participating in or leading subject matter expert groups aimed at refining key HR processes (such as Talent or Performance management) across the EMEA region, or engaging in specific project assignments at the country or regional level.

Lastly, as country-specific HR experts, HRPs manage Employee Relations cases (including investigations, grievances, and dismissals) and negotiations with Workers Councils.

About Our Team

The ESP HRP Corporate team operates from various locations, collectively managing all Corporate employees in Spain. This role requires a presence in Barcelona to maintain a balanced team across locations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as an HR generalist, particularly in labor relations within Spain.
  • In-depth knowledge of Spanish Employment Law and Employee Relations experience (mandatory).
  • Experience managing Workers Councils in Spain.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English; Catalan is a plus but not required.
  • Strong HR acumen, including problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to achieve results both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Catalan is preferred.
  • Experience managing Workers Councils in Spain.
  • Background in Labor Relations within Spain.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, customer-focused international environment.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Project management experience with a track record of data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and consulting skills.
