We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HR generalist to become a vital member of our expanding team of HR Regional Partners in Spain.

If you are interested in joining a forward-thinking and customer-centric HR team that aims to be the best employer globally while providing substantial career advancement opportunities, please continue reading for further insights.

Amazon HR Regional Partners (HRPs) in the EMEA region serve as advisors to over 4,000 managerial staff across 20 diverse nations.

Working independently and offering sound advice, HRPs facilitate an outstanding experience for both customers and employees.

Amazon HRPs actively engage with business and HR stakeholders, including:

  • HR Business Partners who are dedicated to executing the HR strategy for their respective business lines.
  • Centers of excellence, such as Employee Services (responsible for HR administration), Compensation & Benefits, and Talent Acquisition.

HRPs must possess a comprehensive understanding of local employment legislation, excel in consulting on Amazon policies, and build trust by providing insightful guidance on personnel-related matters.

Amazon HRPs operate as 'generalists' across various Corporate sectors, collaborating with leadership to deliver prompt, effective, and high-quality consultation and support.

This role utilizes an innovative customer relationship management tool, which uniquely positions the team to identify emerging issues and trends through data analysis, informing subsequent decisions and initiatives.

The HRP team's responsibilities also include standardizing best practices across the EMEA region, leveraging our extensive insights across different business lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising HRBPs and Business Leaders on change management strategies.
  • Overseeing performance management processes, both informal and formal.
  • Addressing complex and sensitive employee matters, including investigations and grievance procedures.
  • Facilitating development workshops aimed at enhancing managerial effectiveness and capabilities.
  • Providing support on Employee Relations cases, including interactions with Workers Councils and labor inspections (strong knowledge of local labor law is essential).
  • Identifying training opportunities to further enhance functional and leadership skills.
  • Assisting leaders with career discussions and growth plans.

A Day in the Life:

In addition to core casework, the HRP team is responsible for policy and compliance at the national level, which requires staying updated on any legislative or Amazon-driven changes and utilizing strong writing skills to amend policy documents.

Moreover, a significant aspect of our HRP team's professional development involves participating in or leading subject matter expert groups focused on refining key HR processes (such as Talent or Performance management) across the EMEA region, or engaging in individual project assignments at the country or regional level.

Finally, as HR country subject matter experts, managing Employee Relations cases (including investigations, grievances, and terminations) and negotiations with the Workers Council is crucial.

About the Team:

The ESP HRP Corporate team operates between two major cities, managing all Corporate employees within Spain (approximately 6,000 employees).

This position requires being based in one of the cities to ensure a balanced team presence across locations. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is mandatory (knowledge of Catalan is a plus).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or higher in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as a Human Resources generalist and handling labor relations cases in Spain.
  • In-depth knowledge of Spanish Employment Law and Employee Relations experience (mandatory).
  • Experience managing Works Councils in Spain.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English; Catalan is a plus but not required.
  • Strong HR acumen, including problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to achieve results both independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluency in Catalan is preferable.
  • Experience managing Workers Councils in Spain.
  • Experience in Labor Relations within Spain.
  • Demonstrated success in an international, fast-paced, and customer-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Project management experience with a track record of influencing through data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and consulting skills.
