About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Data Manager to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a key member of our Life Sciences Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accessibility, usability, integrity, and security of biomedical data throughout its lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data management plans for research projects, including data storage, backup, and archiving strategies.
  • Facilitate data sharing and collaboration among research teams, both within the organization and with external partners.
  • Implement and promote best practices in data stewardship and management, ensuring data is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR).
  • Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to researchers on data management best practices and tools.
Requirements
  • Education: MSc in data science, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: Experience in data stewardship and research data management, familiarity with FAIR data principles and best practices in data quality management, familiarity with data analysis with R, Python, or SQL, understanding of regulatory requirements related to biomedical data management.
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience: Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Competences: Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to work independently and within a team.
