About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Data Manager to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a Research Data Manager, you will play a key role in the management and stewardship of biomedical data, ensuring that it is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Data Management Planning: Participate in data management planning for research projects, including data storage, backup, and archiving strategies.
  2. Data Sharing and Collaboration: Facilitate data sharing and collaboration among research teams, both within the organization and with external partners.
  3. Data Stewardship: Implement and promote best practices in data stewardship and management, ensuring data is FAIR.
  4. Data Governance: Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures.
  5. Training and Support: Provide training and support to researchers on data management best practices and tools.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: MSc in data science, bioinformatics, or a related field. Alternatively, demonstrated experience in data management and stewardship.
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: Experience in data stewardship and research data management, familiarity with FAIR data principles and best practices in data quality management, familiarity with data analysis with R, Python, or SQL, and understanding of the regulatory requirements related to biomedical data management.
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience: Fluency in spoken and written English.
