Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power System and Converter Control Engineer to join our Grid Connection department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced control systems for wind turbines and wind farms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical simulation models for wind turbines and wind farms using Electromagnetic Transient models with specific features (snapshot, encryption, multi-run).
  • Design and implement converter control algorithms for grid features.
  • Integrate DLLs or automatically generated code into simulation tools.
  • Test model performance and analyze results.
  • Provide inputs to other departments and assess model performance against wind turbine capabilities.
  • Modeling issues analysis and documentation of activities.
Requirements
  • Technical Knowledge: Power System engineering, Transmission and distribution networks, Grid elements, Power electronics, Electrical machines, Harmonics analysis.
  • Converter Control engineering: Power electronic converter design and control, Control theory and application, Power electronic drives, vector current control, Pulse Width Modulation, Grid Forming control systems, Real time embedded control and implementation.
  • Power System studies: Transient stability, Electromagnetic transients simulation, Dynamic studies, Simulation and modeling of control and electrical systems, Small Signal Stability analysis of power systems.
  • Software skills: PSCAD, Fortran, C programming, MATLAB and Simulink, RSCAD.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with wind turbines, renewable energy power plants, and hybrid power plants.
  • Knowledge of algorithms to control power plants, wind turbines, power converters, and renewable energy power plants.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
