Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Power System and Converter Control Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced control systems for wind turbines and wind farms.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and integrate electrical simulation models for wind turbines and wind farms using Electromagnetic Transient models.
- Design and implement converter control algorithms for grid features.
- Test and analyze model performance and results.
- Provide inputs to other departments and assess model performance against wind turbine capabilities.
- Develop automation tools to run simulations and create reports automatically.
- Power System Engineering: Transmission and distribution networks, grid elements, power electronics, electrical machines, harmonics analysis.
- Converter Control Engineering: Power electronic converter design and control, control theory and application, power electronic drives, vector current control, Pulse Width Modulation, grid forming control systems.
- Power System Studies: Transient stability, electromagnetic transients simulation, dynamic studies, simulation and modeling of control and electrical systems, small signal stability analysis.
- Software Skills: PSCAD, Fortran, C programming, MATLAB, Simulink, RSCAD.
- Simulation & Modeling: Wind turbines, experience with type-3 and type-4 technologies for transient stability studies, wind power plants, renewable energy power plants.
- Algorithms to control power plants, mainly wind turbines, power converters, and/or renewable energy power plants.
- Experience with hybrid power plants.
