At Siemens Gamesa, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the energy transition. As a Power System and Converter Control Engineer, you'll play a critical role in developing innovative solutions that meet the growing energy demands of our global community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop wind turbine and/or wind farm regulator electrical simulation models in electromagnetic transient models with specific features.
  • Design and implement converter control algorithms for grid features.
  • Integrate DLLs or automatically generated code to test model performance and analyze results.
  • Collaborate with other departments to assess model performance against wind turbine capabilities.
  • Document activities, including design reports, validation reports, and user manuals.
  • Develop automation tools to run simulations and create reports automatically.
Requirements:
  • Power System engineering knowledge: transmission and distribution networks, grid elements, power electronics, electrical machines, and harmonics analysis.
  • Converter Control engineering expertise: power electronic converter design and control, control theory and application, power electronic drives, vector current control, pulse width modulation, and grid forming control systems.
  • Power System studies: transient stability, electromagnetic transients simulation, dynamic studies, simulation and modeling of control and electrical systems, and small signal stability analysis.
  • Software skills: PSCAD, Fortran, C programming, MATLAB, Simulink, and RSCAD.
