We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Converter Design Engineer to join our team at Gamesa Electric Sa. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing high-power converters for our wind turbine applications.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop high-power converters for multimegawatt wind applications, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical specifications and design reports for main power components, including heatsinks, busbars, capacitors, semiconductors, and power cabling.
- Perform thermal analysis of power converters, including cooling concept and thermal modeling support.
- Validate power components and ensure compliance with design requirements.
- Participate in converter validation and testing, working closely with the converter design team.
- Adhere to quality processes and execute test procedures.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to support product testing and certifications.
- At least 3 years of experience in power electronics converter design, preferably in high-power applications (> 100 kW).
- Experience in analysis, diagnosis, and problem-solving of power converters, with commissioning experience being a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Proficiency in SW tools such as Matlab and/or Python, Simulink and/or PSIM and/or PLECS.
