Job Description

The Commercial Manager - Americas Portfolio role sits within the Commercial team at WiseEnergy, a leading renewable energy company. This is a broad commercial role focusing on the management of revenues, regulatory, and contractual issues for a portfolio of assets in the Americas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of direct reports based in WiseEnergy's Madrid office, providing guidance and support to ensure successful asset management.
  • Oversee the monthly revenue accruals process, investigating discrepancies and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain solar plant compliance with contractual requirements, drafting and issuing formal notices and communications as necessary.
  • Support the management and resolution of complex contractual disputes, working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
  • Manage project company contract renewals and tendering, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Coordinate with the Finance team to prepare project revenue budgets and forecasts, as well as supporting the development of asset operating budgets.
  • Responsible for budget follow-up and management, validating costs and revenues with the company's finance team.
  • Manage insurance renewals and claims, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Oversee property agreements, including land leases, and relationships with landowners, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Support Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) compliance and delivery, working closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Support the company's in-house 'onboarding' process for new sites, focusing on contract management and internal collaboration with Finance and Technical teams.
  • Update and develop the company's in-house Asset Management Platform (AMP) software, working with Commercial teams and the Technology team.
  • Support annual Asset Operating Plans with relevant contract management information and reviews.
  • Report to the client and internally as required, providing regular updates and insights.
  • Undertake ad hoc commercial projects, as assigned by the Commercial Manager - NPIII and NPV Lead.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to organize thoughts clearly and compellingly.
  • Strong knowledge of PPA and revenue management within renewables, with a commercial or contractual background.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish/Portuguese, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
