About the Role:

LevelTen Energy is seeking an experienced attorney to join our Madrid office as Counsel with a focus on commercial and compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise multiple teams within the Company, including sales, operations, and leadership, on a wide variety of commercial and compliance matters relating to the Company's operations in Europe.
  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice and contract support on commercial issues relating to the Company's products and services.
  • Exercise independent legal judgment with respect to compliance and regulatory matters relevant to the Company's European operations.
  • Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret commercial contracts with a wide variety of counterparties.
  • Manage and oversee outside counsel in multiple jurisdictions and areas of subject matter expertise.
  • Foster an internal corporate culture of ethical conduct, sound legal and business practices, and prudent strategic behavior consistent with the Company's business objectives.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience as in-house counsel at a multinational company or with a leading law firm.
  • Strong commercial and compliance experience and renewable energy fluency.
  • Experience with SaaS and venture-backed startups is a strong plus.
  • Ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice and guidance independently in a fast-moving environment at all levels of the Company.
  • A willingness and desire to learn LevelTen's business at a granular level for the purpose of assessing risk and providing strategic advice.
  • Strong teaming and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in English (the working language of the Company and Madrid office) is required.
  • Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred as well.
  • Admission to practice law in Spain is required.
