About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Executive to join our Operations department in Madrid, Spain. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the Sustainability strategy, policies, and standards across the Iberia cluster.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Sustainability strategies and initiatives to drive ESG performance across the cluster, ensuring delivery against corporate commitments and global targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy new capabilities, optimizing cost and environmental performance while ensuring compliance with external and internal requirements.
- Monitor and maintain Sustainability standards, creating best practices to improve employee wellbeing and ensuring successful Compliance Assessments within the cluster.
- Support the cluster in operating and maintaining EHS & Environmental Management Systems, submitting Sustainability reports in a timely manner.
- Manage Sustainability performance data KPIs and associated reporting processes, including monthly and quarterly analysis, investigation, and interpretation of key parameters.
- Contribute to achieving Sustainability Objectives and Targets based on our Global Sustainability Vision, identifying development needs of local staff and using necessary development tools to strengthen Sustainability awareness and commitment.
- Monitor the effective implementation of Sustainability projects, such as Green Fleet transition, Water Recycling & Waste Recycling improvement, and enhancing Driving safety performance.
- Manage the functional Sustainability budget in line with finance guidelines, regularly reviewing processes and ways of working for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all existing and potential threats to the end markets, arising from environmental impacts and Health & Safety risks, are identified, analyzed, and managed.
- Build and maintain constructive communication with colleagues in the cluster and regional teams for areas of responsibility.
- Drive cluster ESG performance and be the SPOC for all cluster ESG-related topics and for some DRBU workstreams.
- Engage with experts across industries, academic, governmental, and non-governmental institutions to develop internal organizational expertise, knowledge, benchmarking capabilities, and understanding of environment & sustainability developments.
- Contribute to the development of Sustainability policies, strategies, and standards which enable BAT Strategy.
Requirements
- Fluent user of English and Spanish.
- Advanced user of MS Office.
- University Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in Sustainability and/or EHS.
