Swedish Linguistic Quality Specialist

A Translation Quality Assurance Specialist possesses exceptional linguistic capabilities, meticulous organization, and strong communication skills to effectively manage relationships with colleagues, external partners, and various stakeholders.
This role involves overseeing quality by evaluating and scoring translations, whether generated by machines or humans, utilizing language resources such as style guides, translation memories, and term bases, while providing detailed and structured feedback grounded in a solid understanding of MQM's framework.
The insights gathered will contribute to enhancing the quality of human translators, refining machine translation systems, and improving quality prediction models.

Key Responsibilities- Execute quality assessments by proofreading and reviewing linguistic outputs from freelance translators, peers, and external vendors to ensure compliance with customer and company quality benchmarks.
- Offer constructive feedback and linguistic coaching to peers, freelance translators, and external vendors, engaging in quality enhancement initiatives as necessary.
- Assess and enhance the quality of machine translation engines (MT and LLM) by evaluating outputs and providing linguistic insights.
- Track the quality progress of external vendors, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate with internal teams to implement measures for quality improvement.
- Assist in maintaining existing language resources, including Style Guides, Term Bases, and Translation Memories.
- Occasionally perform manual translations, particularly during the introduction of new language combinations.
- From time to time, post-edit machine-translated product detail pages efficiently to boost product availability for customers in their preferred language.
- Depending on the team's requirements and your skills, support leadership, business, and tech teams by actively participating in training, project management, and other initiatives.
- Native-level proficiency in Swedish (or minimum C2).
- Exceptional localization skills from English and German (both minimum C1) into Swedish.
- Fully fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Communications, Linguistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Strong analytical, writing, and editorial skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- High degree of personal initiative, decisiveness, and independence.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Flexibility and proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous experience in proofreading or post-editing machine-translated content is advantageous.
- Familiarity with MT, LLM, and Annotations.
- Strong knowledge of CAT tools.
- Skills in markup languages and experience with UI strings and e-learning content.
- Experience in project management and coordination.
- Ability to make logical decisions while performing tasks in ambiguous situations.
- Previous experience working within a global team across different time zones.
