About the Role

Deimos Space is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Hardness Engineer to support our team in the development of cutting-edge space systems. As a key member of our Systems Engineering Competence Centre, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our spacecraft.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and studies across Deimos Space projects in the radiation hardness field, throughout all project phases.
  • Perform simulations of radiation effects on spacecraft electronic equipment using suitable physics-based software tools to produce new models or improve existing ones.
  • Main duties will include the characterization and analysis of total ionizing dose (TID), displacement damage (DD), and single-event effect (SEE) for space applications.
  • Monitor and follow up on applicable scientific and technological trends while maintaining state-of-the-art expertise within the company.
  • Participate in feasibility studies, project reviews, and the evaluation or generation of technical proposals.
  • Contribute to the dissemination activities not only within the company but also externally (publications, papers, etc).

Requirements

  • Aerospace Engineer degree or equivalent experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience and background in the field of radiation hardness analysis and assurance.
  • Basic knowledge of component engineering, analysis, and simulation of radiation effects on spacecraft units and EEE components.
  • Knowledge of radiation analysis and design tools: CATIA, FASTRAD, OMERE.
  • Knowledge of MBSE philosophy.
  • Detailed knowledge of the systems and subsystems encompassing a spacecraft.
  • Knowledge of New Space approach and techniques.
  • Knowledge of low-level integration and testing techniques.
  • Experience in writing relevant technical and project implementation documentation.
  • Expertise in performing tasks to analyze technical data, verify, and sustain specific systems configurations in accordance with defined constraints and driving/operational/technical requirements (following ECSS techniques).

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Capella MBSE Tool and/or Valispace.
