At Semrush, we're looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join our team. As a Technical Writer, you'll play a crucial role in creating high-quality documentation for our software developer audience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit and update drafts of new documentation
  • Maintain documentation writing standards, style guide, templates, and doc linter rules
  • Advise development teams on documentation best practices
  • Improve information architecture and make documentation easier to find
  • Take ownership of and complete projects related to Knowledge Sharing and Management
  • Write documentation from scratch (on occasion)
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience writing technical documentation, including API documentation, for software developers
  • Deep understanding of technical documentation types and ability to create structured and connected web of docs
  • Experience with docs-as-code (command line, Git, Markdown/reStructuredText)
  • Experience working with static site generators such as MkDocs
  • Proactive gathering of information through research and pursuing SMEs
  • Fluency in English (near-native or native) and ability to adjust writing style for different audiences

We work with SMEs and readers from multiple teams and are moving towards docs-as-code.
