About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Export Development Manager to join our team at Ophtec Bv. As a key member of our Commercial Office, you will be responsible for growing our export market and developing strategic plans to achieve sales targets and growth in our markets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in international sales, preferably within the medical devices industry. You will be responsible for informing, advising, and training ophthalmologists and distributors, building long-term customer relationships and collaborating with colleagues from our headquarters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the Export Plan, focusing on several European countries and the Latin American market;
  • Inform and advise ophthalmologists and distributors on our products and services;
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships to achieve sales targets and growth;
  • Collaborate with colleagues from the Commercial Office to achieve business objectives;
  • Participate in international congresses and represent Ophtec Bv;
  • Travel frequently (at least 50% of your time) to meet with customers and partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and several years of experience in an international sales role, preferably within medical devices;
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology is a plus but not a requirement;
  • Excellent communication skills, a well-developed empathy, and knowledge of other cultures;
  • Strong negotiation skills, highly motivated, self-starting, and able to seize negotiation opportunities;
  • Didactic skills and well-developed fine motor skills are very useful for providing training;
  • Travel energizes you, and you are flexible and able to spend at least 50% of your time abroad.
