About the role:
We are looking for a Consultant to join our well-established Policy Implementation and Programmes practice, which manages a spectrum of large programs. The practice provides technical assistance, insights, research, networking, and other implementation services to EU institutions, particularly the European Commission, as well as organizations in the UK. Our current portfolio of projects supports the main Directorates-General of the Commission, spanning areas such as Mutual Learning Services for DG Employment and Social Inclusion, providing support services to the ESF + program, supporting the European Platform Tackling Undeclared Work and the Capacity Building Centre on behalf of the European Labour Authority, operating the European Centre of Expertise on labor market policy and labor law, supporting the EQAVET Network, designing and delivering training services, working within the framework of DG REFORM, and more.
As a Consultant, your work might include:
- Employment and social policy-related subjects for DG EMPL and the European Labour Authority.
- Education and training-related policy subjects with other agencies of the European Union.
- Supporting the delivery of large programs and specific activities within programs.
- Contributing to the organization and support of program-related activities.
- Preparing reports, presentations, and other written deliverables.
- Researching, analyzing, and producing policy content in different forms.
- Designing and organizing workshops and events.
- Supporting elements of proposal-writing and preparations.
- Undertaking other consultancy tasks as required.
At Consultant level, you will typically support consultants and senior members of the team as they coordinate packages of activities and deliverables.
Required experience:
- University degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
- 2+ years of professional experience in consultancy, public policy, and/or government affairs in the EU and/or UK.
- Knowledge and interest in employment policy, labor mobility, areas linked to the European employment strategy.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid foundation in research and analysis.
- Knowledge of communications methods and tools in the context of disseminating outputs.
Personal Qualities:
- Ability to self-organize, prioritize, and work with multiple teams under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and communication skills in English.
- Ability to work with internal staff, clients, and contractors.
- Willingness to travel within Europe as required.
