As a Business Development Manager, you are responsible for developing an Iberia contract logistics business by successfully creating a pipeline of prospects and through conversion of prospects.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead the Business Development team in Spain, reporting to the Country Manager.
- Manage national RFQs in coordination with the RHQ Business Development team.
- Serve as the main contact for former and existing customers, ensuring strong customer management.
- Identify warehouse locations and logistics solutions in line with regulations and customer needs.
- Develop and execute the sales and business development strategy aligned with company objectives.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement and operational procedures.
- Prepare and manage Business Development and Sales budgets.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers.
- Promote the company brand through trade fairs, forums, and industry events.
- Participate in European Business Development meetings and present business plans and results to senior management.
- Track sales activities, manage customer billing, and ensure timely payments.
- Collaborate closely with RHQ colleagues to support and grow the Spanish business.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience selling contract logistics in the Spanish market (mandatory; clearly shown in the CV).
- Strong network of potential customers and key partners (carriers, landlords, brokers, and suppliers).
- Excellent communication skills in English and strong Excel skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills; independent, analytical, and able to set priorities.
- Results-driven, customer-focused, and commercially minded.
- Proven deal-maker with strong sales skills and confidence in approaching customers.
- Adaptable to new systems, software, and changing environments.
- Team-oriented, able to work across the organization, and accountable for performance.
