**About us**:
**Purpose of the job**:
As a Business Development Manager, you are responsible for developing an Iberia logistics business by successfully creating a pipeline of prospects and through conversion of prospects.

We are looking for someone eager to join us at this exciting time and to be instrumental in creating a logistics business in the both Spain and Portugal. You will need an excellent understanding of the Contract Logistics market and operations, coupled with an entrepreneurial ‘no fear’ approach to securing new activity.

**KEY ACTIVITIES**
- Acquiring and managing international clients with a focus on Supply Chain Solutions and IT driven processes.
- Building and promoting strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
- Managing a sales team effectively.
- Achieving growth with existing customers and hit sales targets with new customers.
- Being responsible for the effectiveness and success of sales.
- Generating new (sales) leads for the program within the network.
- Analyzing the needs and wishes of potential customers based on digital technology and create value proposals that ensure a win-win situation.
- Negotiating the value proposal with both the potential customer as well as with internal stakeholders (i.e., digital solution, commercial conditions)
- Ensuring a smooth transition after the win to our Innovations team and operations for implementation, retention and further growth
- Drafting and implementing the sales strategy plan(s) in line with the company Strategy and Business plan
- Drafting and managing the BD/ Sales budgets
- Building and maintaining excellent relations with (key) customers
- Ensuring effectiveness and success (= on target) of sales incl. target setting and monitoring;
- Coordinating and ensure the efficient use of systems, staff and other resources
- Coordinating, ensuring and managing margin(s) of new business

**Profile**:

- At least a Bachelors’ degree, preferably in Logistics and Economics or Supply Chain Management
- 5+ years of relevant - sales - experience for medium and larger (international) customers
- You are a real 'deal maker' with good sales qualities;
- Background and experience with operational, pricing, freight forwarding and financial processes
- A customer centric mindset and experience in driving business development
- Preferably, you have an affinity with Supply Chain solutions (Order Management & Freight Management) and process optimization
- Basic knowledge of operational regulatory policies
- Excellent communication skills in English and/or additional European languages
- Excellent presentation skills
- Cultural awareness
- A genuine interest in supply chain and logistics
- Problem solving, communicative, independent, managerial, analytical and you set priorities
- Result-oriented, customer-oriented, convincing, influencing, motivating, coaching, and commercial
- Analytical insight, flair, team development, organizer, coordinator, integrity, reliable
