About the Role

As a Labor Relations Specialist at BYD Europe, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's adherence to internal policies and external regulations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing internal governance processes, contributing to HR operational efficiency, and providing 'best in class' Labor Relations consultancy services to both local market business leaders and employees, as well as to leaders globally.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Labor Matters Expertise: Be the contact in the company for questions and concerns regarding labor matters, staying updated on all labor reforms or modifications that may arise to implement them in the company.
  2. Document Preparation: Prepare and create documents and agreements regarding labor matters that are necessary, such as work calendars, policies, contracts, etc.
  3. Business Support: Support business leaders on cases covering all aspects of the employment relationship, such as collective bargaining, disciplinary matters, complaints, performance, absence, flexible working, redundancy, contractual changes, etc.
  4. Information and Consultation: Support information/consultation activities, including the relationship with the Workers Councils and Unions when required.
  5. Compensation and Benefits: Define and implement the company's compensation and benefits policy.
  6. Payroll Oversight: Oversee payroll process with our external agency.
  7. Health and Safety: Review and maintain different processes in terms of Health and Safety, with the support of our external vendors.
  8. Data Management: Manage data tools, track and report data to support data-driven decision making and inform effective prioritization.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and agility. Continue to work on automation and digitization of processes where appropriate, leading with an external perspective.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 3 years of Employee Relations experience, including compensation, flexible working, general policies, contractual changes, etc.
  2. Degree or Masters in Labour Relations, Legal or similar.
  3. Knowledge of Spanish Employment Legislation application/interpretation, including the ability to quickly assess potential areas of risk.
  4. Team worker.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and liaise with all levels of management.
  6. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in Spanish, Chinese, and English.
