Fashion Communications Administrator Job Description

About the Role:

The Fashion Communications Administrator is a key member of the Global Fashion Communications PR team at Primark. This role will be responsible for the coordination of the press office and showroom, focusing on the management of samples, image databases, press requests, and influencer activations. The successful candidate will support Primark's Iberian market, both Spain and Portugal, working closely across offices with Fashion Communications Coordinators and Fashion Communications Officers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the online image banks regularly and update the wider team.
  • Research necessary collateral for press events proposals and seasonal trend activations.
  • Write all types of effective PR materials, including drafting press releases, social media plans, event running orders, and briefing documents.
  • Pitch to online press, print, and influencers.
  • Compile fashion and news alerts for global markets and keep an updated calendar of comms in line with the wider brand comms marketing calendar.
  • Support the implementation of PR strategies in line with the global marketing calendar and Primark brand.
  • Manage media and influencer gifting, seeding, and production of goody bags for media and events.
  • Manage the day-to-day PR samples to media, influencers, and external agencies.
  • Ensure samples are recorded, monitored, and stored appropriately and returned in a timely and organized manner if required.
  • Manage and file press folders and reference material, archiving press clippings and tracking all brand coverage received daily through Unicepta and our own influencer monitoring system, Wearisma.
  • Assist with ad-hoc day-to-day press activity, press events, in-store events, and influencer activations.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of influencer marketing campaigns, agencies, and how paid activations work.
  • Attend relevant team meetings to review progress and identify future objectives for yourself and the department.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the ever-changing social media landscape, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other emerging tools.
  • Support creating content for our own IG Account, working with senior team members to ensure content is created with a Primark look and feel.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the press office, keeping it new and fresh with key product and working with Primark HQ to ensure this.
  • Stay abreast with industry developments, keeping up to date on fashion trends, styles, celebrities, and the online community in specific markets.

Essential Knowledge, Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • At least 1 year's work experience working at a PR agency or in-house on a PR/Marketing team.
  • Keen awareness and interest in the social influencer landscape.
  • Good level of English language, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook are essential.
  • Adobe Photoshop and InDesign knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be proactive and assertive, reacting to key business requirements in a timely manner.

  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to analyze and interrogate high volumes of data, as well as demonstrating an ability to focus on higher-level overviews.
  • Proven ability in managing sensitive matters while ensuring all Primark information remains confidential to the business.
  • Be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal/communication skills, while demonstrating high levels of emotional intelligence and possess the ability to push back with professionalism.
  • Proven ability in developing effective working relationships across all levels of the organization, effective and persuasive presentation skills.
