About the Role

We are seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our Spain Payroll Operations Team in Barcelona. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for owning the payroll processing cycle for a country or a company, depending on size and complexity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Paying employees accurately and on time
  • Managing payroll balances and controls at input and output
  • Providing payroll accounting support
  • Handling complex payroll queries & escalations
  • Managing vendor operations
  • Serving as the point of contact for stakeholders (Benefits, Compensation, Stock Options, HR Services, Local HR, Recruitment, Accounting, Treasury and others)

As a Payroll Specialist, you will work dynamically and have opportunities to contribute to many cool projects that will have positive impacts on our employees. You will also have the chance to work with various stakeholders and be part of a multicultural team.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • At least 3+ years of experience in Spanish Payroll
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookup and other formulas)
  • Good analytical skills with high levels of accuracy and attention to details
  • Experience with Spanish Labor Code, Taxation, Social Security System

Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have deep knowledge of personal income tax legislation, labor law and experience with process transitions. Familiarity with SAP, PeopleSoft, Workday, ADP software is also a plus.
