About the Role

As a key member of the Byd Europe team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with labor laws and regulations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing internal governance processes to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
  • Contributing to the overall HR operational efficiency.
  • Coordinating with lawyers and agencies to ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Delivering 'best in class' Labor Relations consultancy services to business leaders and employees.

This role reports to the HR Manager and will be based in Madrid. As a global organization, you will have the opportunity to work with teams based in Spain and contribute to the company's mission to build a zero-emission future.

Key Responsibilities

As a Labor Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Being the primary contact for questions and concerns regarding labor matters.
  • Staying up-to-date on all labor reforms and modifications to implement them in the company.
  • Preparing and creating documents and agreements regarding labor matters, such as work calendars, policies, contracts, and more.
  • Supporting business leaders on cases covering all aspects of the employment relationship, including collective bargaining, disciplinary actions, complaints, performance, absence, flexible working, redundancy, and contractual changes.
  • Supporting information and consultation activities, including relationships with the Workers Councils and Unions when required.
  • Defining and implementing the company's compensation and benefits policy.
  • Overseeing the payroll process with our external agency.
  • Reviewing and maintaining health and safety processes with the support of external vendors.
  • Managing data tools, tracking, and reporting data to support data-driven decision making and inform effective prioritization.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum of 3 years of Employee Relations experience, including compensation, flexible working, general policies, and contractual changes.
  • Degree or Master's in Labor Relations, Legal, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Spanish Employment Legislation application and interpretation, including the ability to quickly assess potential areas of risk.
  • Team worker with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and liaise with all levels of management.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
