About the Role

The Legal & Compliance Iberia Lead will provide strategic legal and compliance advice to the Spanish and Portuguese organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role will involve representing the organization in various capacities, including customer, supplier, competitor, and government agency interactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage external advisors to ensure appropriate legal and compliance support across Spain and Portugal.
  • Develop and recommend policies and practices to mitigate legal and compliance risks.
  • Counsel leadership on legal, policy, compliance, transactional, and commercial issues, integrating legal and compliance knowledge with business and risk management understanding.
  • Engage external legal counsel to interpret pending or new legislation and regulatory rules affecting the business.
  • Educate client businesses on sound legal and compliance practices and new developments affecting the business.
  • Negotiate high-value or legally sensitive contracts with external parties.
  • Work with the business to ensure appropriate governance over other contracts and relevant compliance records.
  • Manage litigation in accordance with Haleon's strategy, working with Haleon's Group Litigation Department.
  • Review business, scientific, commercial, sales, and marketing communications, advising on appropriate strategy/language to manage risk while maximizing business benefit.
  • Contribute to the development of Haleon strategy and risk management through active participation in regional teams and proactive work with Compliance and global legal teams.
  • Promote ethical decision-making and act as an advisor to ensure activities in the market are aligned with Haleon's Code of Conduct and the core value of 'Always Do the Right Thing.'
