About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team at OmniAccess. As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and providing exceptional support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • IT Operations: Oversee the daily operation of our IT systems, including monitoring, maintenance, and implementation of new solutions.
  • System Administration: Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Backup and Recovery: Verify that backup procedures are carried out and have been verified as successful in line with employee IT policies.
  • Performance Tuning: Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Maintain data centre environmental and monitoring equipment, and ensure that all IT equipment is in good working condition.
  • User Support: Provide basic user training and support in the use of common PC software and specialized property management software as needed.
  • Satellite Communication: Monitor and support the satellite communication systems to ensure that the system is operating to optimum performance.
  • Team Collaboration: Align with the teams and IT vendors for our newbuild ships in construction yards and oversee the new build deployment progress.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Language: Proficient in English. German language skills would also be a plus.
  • Relocation: Willing to relocate to Germany (Passau area) for the upcoming two years.
  • Work Authorization: Pertinent work authorization for Germany is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of four years practical hands-on experience in a similar role (e.g. System Administrator).
  • Technical Skills: Good experience with Windows installation and administration, domain of Active Directory features (DHCP, DNS), and with Failover clusters.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent time management, excellent attitude and interpersonal skills, and ability to follow directives of onboard management.
