Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Operations Manager to join our team. As a Data Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in managing data processes and overseeing a team of data professionals.
Main Responsibilities
- Team Management
- Oversee and manage a team of data professionals, ensuring effective performance, professional development, and high levels of engagement.
- Data Product Delivery
- Develop and manage data product delivery processes, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and meet quality standards.
- Data Quality Assurance
- Conduct quality assurance of data pipelines and products, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Database Management
- Manage the implementation and maintenance of database technologies, including PostgreSQL or other relational database management systems (RDBMS).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data products meet business requirements and client needs.
- Technical Guidance
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members on data-related tasks and projects.
- Data Governance
- Ensure adherence to data governance and security protocols.
- Performance Monitoring
- Monitor and report on team performance, project progress, and data quality metrics.
- Process Improvement
- Facilitate continuous improvement of data processes and team workflows.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Acquired experience (3-5 years) in managing data products and their delivery.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team of data professionals.
- Strong background in data processes, including ETL pipeline development and management.
- Extensive experience with database technologies, such as PostgreSQL or other RDBMS.
- Demonstrated experience in quality assurance of data pipelines and products.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Desired:
- University degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Geospatial Science).
- Understanding of geospatial data and applications (e.g., ESRI, QGIS).
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of Agile software development processes and methodologies.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and SQL.
