Legal Counsel Spain

Are you a seasoned legal professional looking for a new challenge? Goodman Group is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Spain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks related to real estate development and operations, including infrastructure, power connection, and renewable energy projects.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage agreements and legal documents for data centre and light industrial/logistics projects.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, case law, and industry trends, and advise the organisation on potential legal risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and values, and train and educate the Spanish team on relevant legal and compliance matters.
  • Work closely with the European legal team, Spanish business team, and other stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in law from a Spanish university, with additional degree or LLM considered a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of contract law, construction law, and energy law, with a strong interest in regulatory changes triggered by sustainability.
  • At least 8 years of proven experience as a legal counsel or similar role in a company or law firm, with minimum 5 years in construction law for major infrastructure projects and/or data centres.
  • Experience with drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts for energy, power, and grid connection, as well as renewable energy and innovative projects.
