About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Spain, based in our Madrid or Barcelona office. As a Legal Counsel for Spain, you will play a critical role in proactively identifying and mitigating legal risks related to our real estate development and operations in Spain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage agreements and other legal documents related to data centre and light industrial/logistics projects, including energy, power, and grid connection, RIBA, and EPC agreements.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, case law, and industry trends impacting the company and provide proactive advice on potential legal risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's policies, standards, and values, and train and educate the Spanish team on relevant legal and compliance matters.
  • Manage external law firms effectively and ensure the coordination of legal disputes and/or litigation.
  • Collaborate closely with the European legal team, Spanish business team, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in law from a Spanish university, with additional degree or LLM considered a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of contract law, construction law, and energy law, with a strong interest in regulatory changes triggered by sustainability.
  • At least 8 years of proven experience as a legal counsel or similar role in a company or law firm, with minimum 5 years in construction law for major infrastructure projects and/or data centers.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with ability to work independently and handle complex legal matters.
  • Perfect knowledge of Spanish and English, both written and spoken, with additional knowledge of Catalan a plus.
  • Ability to travel and work on multiple projects under tight time pressure in a fast-changing environment.
