Legal Counsel Spain

At Goodman, we're seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to join our team in Spain, based in our Madrid or Barcelona office. As a key member of our legal team, you'll play a crucial role in proactively identifying and mitigating legal risks related to real estate development and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and legal documents for data centre and light industrial/logistics projects, including energy, power, and grid connection.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends, and provide proactive advice on potential legal risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and values, and train the Spanish team on relevant legal and compliance matters.
  • Manage external law firms and coordinate legal disputes and/or litigation.
  • Collaborate with the European legal team, Spanish business team, and wider European team.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in law from a Spanish university, with additional degree or LLM considered a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of contract law, construction law, and energy law, with a strong interest in regulatory changes triggered by sustainability.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a legal counsel or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years in construction law for major projects and/or data centers.
