Senior Legal Counsel Opportunity

Gateway Recruiting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of professionals and contribute to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with business clients in Spain and Portugal to provide strategic legal advice and lead multidisciplinary projects.
  • Assist with inquiries regarding commercial contracts, government contracts, product liability, and other specialized areas.
  • Work independently on complex matters and lead cross-functional deals and projects.
  • Formulate strategies for sophisticated business setups and dispute resolution.
  • Identify and quantify legal risks, and explore options and alternatives that balance risks and business objectives.
  • Raise and monitor questions and legal discussions that have applicability to our businesses and operations.
  • Support and accompany judicial and administrative claims.
  • Provide recommendations, consultations, and training on organizational policies and regulatory questions.
  • Monitor and proactively manage legal issues occurring within the region.
Requirements:
  • At least 8 years of post-qualified legal experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in law from an accredited institution.
  • Experience gained within a reputable commercial law firm and ideally made the transition into the in-house legal team of a recognized entity.
  • Good understanding of general commercial law, Competition Law, Health Care Law, Privacy, and related areas of practice.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English is required. Portuguese welcomed.
  • Admission to practice in Spain.
